Maersk establishes itself at SEGRO Park Amsterdam Airport in Hoofddorp

SEGRO Netherlands has signed a multi-year lease agreement with Maersk. The Danish shipping and logistics company will move into the recently completed eastern part of SEGRO Park Amsterdam Airport. The warehouse will house Maersk's air cargo division

Maersk recently signed the lease agreement with SEGRO Netherlands, resulting in the cargo giant focusing on handling its air cargo volume at this location. The new accommodation fits perfectly with Maersk's strategic position to offer international and local tailor-made solutions for B2B and B2C distribution.

Logical logistics choice
The property at Barnsteen 7 and 8 occupies around 4,000 m2 of warehouse space and 1,080 m2 of office space. The location at SEGRO Park Amsterdam Airport is a logical choice for Maersk, as Pilot Freight Services has long operated successfully at this business park. Maersk took over the US transport company in 2022. SEGRO will continue the existing cooperation with the new organization.

The new building at SEGRO Park Amsterdam Airport offers Maersk space to further expand operations and optimally serve customers worldwide. The location is ideal due to its proximity to Schiphol Airport and excellent accessibility via the A4, A5, A9 and A10 motorways.

Sustainable cooperation
The modern, sustainable SEGRO building fits seamlessly with Maersk's sustainable strategy. Earlier, Maersk signed a lease agreement with SEGRO UK. In June 2023, this enabled the company to occupy a new 64,000 m² warehouse at SEGRO Logistics Park East Midlands Gateway. There too, the sustainable objectives shared by Maersk and SEGRO played an important role in the cooperation.

Joost Schreurs, Development Manager, SEGRO Netherlands: "Maersk is taking the lead in reducing CO2 emissions from the logistics sector; they want to be part of the solution, as do we. The BREEAM-certified building at Barnsteen meets the highest sustainability standards. This location is a businesslike, logical and future-proof choice for Maersk."

In addition to SEGRO Park Amsterdam Airport in Hoofddorp, SEGRO Netherlands also has locations in Tilburg and Venray.
